Designing with the Sun Book Chapter Illustrations

Designed for “Handbook of Best Practices in sustainable Development at University Level,” and the “Designing with the Sun Workshop” which was presented during the
International Conference on Design Principles & Practices Towards a (Design) New Deal in Universidad de Monterrey by Professor Beth Ferguson, Designing with the Sun is a chapter on solar design, its foundations, as well as the innovation born out of it. With a curriculum designed for high school and college students, this solar chapter is a free resource for anyone to explore independently.

The Process

 

With copy and base design provided by Beth, I was tasked with refining each graphic. I first began with redesigning each element into a style that could be translated seamlessly into each graphic’s needs. Once the main illustrations were designed, I edited each copy and

reworked the graphic’s overall layout to work better with the new look. Throughout this process, I was in close communication with Beth in the refining of each design to its final form.
