Two-Way Chair
While most chairs have been designed for users to find their most comfortable seating position, the Two-Way chair utilizes its shape to present two different seating positions. Designed to be completely produced with a lasercutter, the Two-Way chair allows users to both lounge and sit up right by simply turning the chair on it’s back.

The Process
Our goal was clear— to design a chair that accounts for two ways of sitting. Having previously explored different sitting styles, we began rapid prototyping fun and unexpected shapes which would then be sliced and laser-cut into a chair. And thanks to our teammate, Jen, we found our winning design! Throughout our design
process, we wanted to ensure that users wouldn’t be facing the part of the chair that have touched the ground. From testing the stability of each surface to changing tilt angles, each tweak was made for the comfort of our users.
